School District U-46 serves portions of 11 communities in the northwest suburbs of Chicago in Cook, DuPage and Kane Counties. Over 40,000 children, representing 60 different cultures, are enrolled in grades preK–12. The District ranks as the second largest in Illinois with 40 elementary schools, eight middle schools and five high schools. This PDS experience will give you an opportunity to learn in a large suburban district with an urban feel. Headquartered in Elgin, it is a very rich school district with ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity.
