PDS for Bilingual Education majors

The Bilingual-Bicultural Education Program at Illinois State is offered to students interested in using the Spanish language and culture as a teaching tool. It is offered by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in cooperation with the departments of English; Languages, Literatures, and Cultures; Sociology-Anthropology; and History.

The Bilingual-Bicultural Education major is certified as an elementary school teacher with bilingual-bicultural approval. They also are endorsed to teach middle-level social science and language arts.

The PDS sites for these majors have strong bilingual programs and the yearlong immersion in the schools provides them with excellent preparation for the bilingual classroom.
