You should plan for the PDS experience early in your academic career since both semesters of your senior year are off campus. The academic requirements are often the same as the traditional program; however, you are encouraged to consult with a program advisor about any specific requirements for the PDS program. Application is made during your junior year. Notification will be sent prior to advanced registration as to your application status.
Requirements for participating in a PDS are the same as those for traditional student teaching. Teacher candidates must have at least a 2.5 Illinois State University cumulative GPA, and all course and teacher education requirements met.
The deadline for applying to be an intern for the 2010-2011 has passed. Applications are accepted during each fall semester.

with three dates and times that you can tour either Bloomington Junior High or Tri-Valley Middle School. The tour will answer questions and act as an interview for the program.Every attempt is made to place a student at his or her first choice of location. Occasionally a PDS site fills to capacity and a student is placed in an alternate location. There is no guarantee that all students' first choices will be available.
