Council for Teacher Education

The Council for Teacher Education is the Illinois State University committee responsible for developing requirements for teacher education and for providing avenues of communication among all areas of the University concerned with teacher education. It has the authority and responsibility to oversee academic programs leading to certification of teachers and other professional education personnel who work in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade school settings. In this role, the Council for Teacher Education has four primary areas of responsibility: leadership, liaison/advocacy, planning/development, regulation.
